Experience and Gold Adjustments Shift Mid Lane Power Spikes
Beyond the terrain, the update alters the mid-game economy by changing how the lone laner accrues experience. The first six melee minions per wave now grant 30% less experience individually, but each ranged minion grants 50% more, and the canonical cannon minion that spawns at wave three now awards bonus gold only if the killing blow comes from a champion. This seemingly small tweak makes last-hitting under tower riskier for control mages, because ranged creeps require one additional auto-attack in the early game, opening an eight-frame window where a trade into the melee minion line can punish the defender. New Catapult Teleporters Reshape Gank and Roam Timing
Possibly the boldest mechanic introduced in this patch is the pair of one-way catapult teleporters placed in the middle of each river wall, just above the raptor and gromp camps respectively. Activating one requires the champion to channel for 1.25 seconds before being launched to a fixed landing pad directly behind the outer side-brush near dragon and Baron pit. The channel can be interrupted by any hard crowd control, and the teleporter has a seven-minute individual cooldown, but the travel distance covers roughly 1,800 units, which cuts half the walking time from mid to either side lane. This changes the fundamental calculus of roaming: a mid laner who shoves the wave and receives a clean crash under the enemy tower can now vanish from vision and appear in the far river within 2.5 seconds, creating pressure windows that are almost impossible to track via standard ward placements. The punishing part is that both teleporters are visible to a new pinging system — if the enemy mid’s camera has line of sight to the teleporter, they see a brief golden charge-up animation followed by a unique sound cue that travels through the fog. In practice, this means the roaming player must choose between using the catapult with a missing animation that alerts the side lane, or walking normally to preserve the element of surprise. Additionally, junglers can now use these teleporters to bypass mid lane entirely, ganking from the enemy bot side’s landing pad at the cost of telegraphing their route. This creates fresh counter-jungling opportunities, because the teleport pad always leaves the champion in a slow-disarm zone for 1.5 seconds, during which auto-attacks deal reduced damage. Mid laners with long range poke like Ziggs or Xerath will thrive by pre-firing at the landing pad location, but mobile skirmishers like LeBlanc can buffer their dash to exit the area immediately after the launch. The teleporter is a double-edged sword that forces every mid lane to prepare new response routes and timer awareness, essentially adding a permanent secondary objective to the middle of the map.
Vision Entrances and Bush Placement Demand Updated Warding Patterns
To complement the terrain and teleporter changes, jungle entrances on both sides of mid have been completely reconfigured. The two old crescent-shaped brush patches at each ramp have been merged into a single long bush that stretches diagonally from the river edge all the way to the second platform step. This extended brush now covers the entire walking path from the raptor camp exit to the mid tower’s maximum attack range, meaning a champion standing in the bush can be completely invisible to the lane ward on the traditional center spot. The update also removes two previous ward-over-wall locations that are now out of range due to the shifted ramp walls, so your standard pink ward under the enemy’s tower-adjacent alcove will no longer grant vision over the proximal entrance. Instead, players need to stand on the platform and aim a deep trinket ward over a newly raised wall segment to cover the telepad landing zone. This has huge implications for support players as well, as the old defensive river ward that protected against jungle ganks now misses the entire expanded brush corridor. Side-lane mid roams will often appear from the diagonal bush with no warning unless the mid laner actively keeps a control ward inside the central gap or has temporary vision from an allied ability. As a result, the update effectively reintroduces “fake vision” as a mind-game tool: many experienced players are placing bait wards at the old locations to induce a false sense of security, then waiting in the new deep bush for the enemy to overextend. The objective complexity of warding mid is now functionally doubled, and the champions who excel are those with built-in vision-denial tools, such as Talon’s ultimate, Fizz’s playful retreat, or even a simple Farsight alteration. Mid lane is no longer a straight line of minions and towers — it is a layered puzzle of elevation, teleport pads, and rotating shadow zones that demands constant map-aware creativity.
